Mars Bar slice recipe

Here is my mum's Mars Bar slice recipe. This Mars Bar slice uses Mars Bars, chocolate, Rice Bubbles and butter to make a fridge slice that makes a perfect sweet treat.
  • 90g butter
  • 250g milk chocolate block
  • 3 cups Rice Bubbles
  • 3 x 85g roughly chopped Mars Bars

Step One: Prepare a slice tin by lining with baking paper and a little bit of cooking oil.

Step Two: Place butter and chopped Mars Bars into a large mixing bowl. Heat them in the microwave for 90 seconds and remove to stir.

Step Three: Pour Rice Bubbles one cup at a time into the butter and Mars Bar mixture. Mix and stir until it is combined.

Step Four: Press the mixture into the slice tin with the back of a large metal spoon.

Step Five: Break the block of chocolate into small squares and microwave for 1 minute. Stir it for 30 seconds.  Microwave it again if needed for 20 seconds more if it doesn't become smooth. If the mars bar slice is for a party, add some sprinkles or stars that match the colour theme to the melted chocolate at the last minute.
Step Six: Pour the melted chocolate over the Rice Bubbles mixture and spread evenly. Then cool in fridge until the chocolate hardens.
Step Seven: Lift the slab of Mars bar slice out of tray with baking paper place onto a  cutting board. Once it is room temperature, cut into pieces with a sharp knife.
