How to remove rust from chrome with coke and aluminium foil

Chrome can be beautiful, however it can also be a bit unsightly if it is rusting. Have you ever tried to remove the rust with Coca-Cola? This is the quickest and easiest way to remove rust from chrome. You will be amazed at how well this works. All I can say is Wow!

Steps:
Step 1: Identify the chrome object you want to clean and remove rust from. A friend needed to borrow this item and I was horrified to find the handles rusted! However, it has been left in storage for over 10 years. I quickly decided to clean it!
Step 2: To clean the rust off, you just need coke (any variety) and aluminium foil. Make sure you are using the shiny side of the aluminium foil. Make foil balls shiny side up dipped in coke and all the rust spots disappear from chrome. You can simply wrap a bit of aluminium foil around you finger shiny side up if you are only cleaning a small area. I found I have to change the foil often and don't get the coke dirty or it stops working.

Step 3: You may need to re-dip the foil in coke and repeat if the first application does not take. Once you are happy, dry the clean surface of the chrome with a towel.

Half way through the process

Step 4: Once the chrome is clean, you may want to use chrome polish to protect the chrome. I was pretty impressed with the outcome. The rust and damage are about 90 percent gone! I will definitely use this trick again.
