TV cabinet makeover

Here is my oak TV cabinet makeover. I picked up this oak cabinet for $50 from EBay last year. I sanded, buffed and painted the whole cabinet.
In total it cost about $100, not $700 like the cabinets below that I originally wanted.

  Before
Here are some photos of the cabinet half done. I wasn't blogging at the time, so I didn't take photos of each stage like I would now. However, here are the photos after I sanded the varnish off the whole cabinet and painted the bottom white.

We also added these handles for $5 each.
This is before we coated the top with a clear varnish.

 After
Here it is in its final place in the rumpus room.

I have added some trinkets and photos to the top.

Playing with playdough

Our son is now 16 months old and recently discovered play dough.

I had tried playing with in the past, but he didn’t really seem interested.
However today we loved rolling and chopping the play dough!
I have set up a playdough activity centre which includes educational numeracy and literacy mats (from Sparklebox), cutters, rollers and 6 different colour play dough.
